Altitude Film Distribution will release Gregg Araki's much talked about thriller, White Bird In A Blizzard in cinemas and on demand via UK based digital-social platform ourscreen, on 6th March 2014 followed by a digital and DVD release on 16th March 2015. Picturehouse Cinemas will feature White Bird in a Blizzard as in their Discover Tuesday strand in 14 cinemas on 10th March 2015.

Based on Laura Kasischke's striking novel and adapted and directed by Araki (Mysterious Skin, Kaboom), White Bird In A Blizzard stars Shailene Woodley (Insurgent, The Fault In Our Stars) and Eva Green (Penny Dreadful, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For).

1988. Kat Connors (Woodley) is 17 years old when her perfect homemaker mother, Eve (Green), a beautiful, enigmatic, and haunted woman, disappears - just as Kat is discovering and relishing her newfound sexuality. Having lived for so long in a stifled, emotionally repressed household, she barely registers her mother's absence and certainly doesn't blame her doormat of a father, Brock, (Meloni) for the loss. In fact, it's almost a relief. But as time passes, Kat begins to come to grips with how deeply Eve's disappearance has affected her. Returning home on a break from college, she finds herself confronted with the truth about her mother's departure, and her own denial about the events surrounding it.

White Bird In A Blizzard also features Thomas Jane (Hung, The Mist), Christopher Meloni (Oz, True Blood), Gabourey Sidibe (Precious, American Horror Story), Angela Bassett (American Horror Story, Olympus Has Fallen), Shiloh Fernandez (Evil Dead, The East) and Sheryl Lee (Twin Peaks, Winters Bone).

White Bird in a Blizzard boasts an impressive and distinctive soundtrack featuring The Jesus and Mary Chain, New Order, Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears, Everything But the Girl, Pet Shop Boys and an original score from the Cocteau Twins member Robin Guthrie and avant-garde pianist Harold Budd.
