Michael Fassbender leads an outstanding ensemble cast in The Agency: Season One, a gripping espionage thriller exploring the dangerous world of international intelligence, deception and divided loyalties. Also starring Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith and Richard Gere, the acclaimed ten-part drama offers a tense and sophisticated take on the modern spy genre, where personal relationships can prove every bit as dangerous as the missions themselves.

Fassbender stars as Martian, a covert CIA operative who has spent years living undercover before being abruptly recalled to the agency's London Station. Forced to abandon the identity and relationships he has carefully constructed, Martian struggles to readjust to a world where trust is a rare commodity and even the smallest mistake can have devastating consequences. His situation becomes increasingly complicated when Sami (Jodie Turner-Smith), a woman from his former life, unexpectedly reappears, reigniting a relationship that threatens to compromise his professional responsibilities and expose carefully guarded secrets.

As Martian's personal and professional worlds begin to unravel, a suspected mole within the intelligence community plunges London Station into turmoil. Betrayed, compromised and haunted by the woman he could not save, he finds himself drawn deeper into a dangerous web of competing agendas and hidden loyalties. Meanwhile, covert operations stretching from Tehran to the rainforests of Africa threaten to ignite an international crisis, leaving the agency's operatives struggling to distinguish allies from enemies. With every decision carrying potentially catastrophic consequences, Martian must navigate an increasingly treacherous landscape where the truth itself has become a weapon.

The impressive supporting cast includes Jeffrey Wright as Henry Ogletree, the CIA's Director of Operations at London Station, and Richard Gere as Bosko, the station's formidable chief. Katherine Waterston, John Magaro, Saura Lightfoot-Leon and Harriet Sansom Harris also feature in the ensemble, bringing additional depth to a story populated by intelligence officers, undercover agents and individuals whose loyalties are rarely straightforward.

Based on the acclaimed French espionage drama Le Bureau des Légendes (The Bureau), the series was developed for English-language television by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth, with acclaimed filmmaker Joe Wright directing its opening episodes.

The Agency: Season 1 is released on DVD and Blu-ray 23rd November 2026 from Paramount Home Entertainment.
