Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment presents the movie debut of the smart-alec cat with appetite and attitude, as Odie the dog arrives to turn his life upside down!

At first, Garfield's laid-back lifestyle seems just purr-fect… Living with his easygoing owner Jon Arbuckle (Breckin Meyer; Roadtrip, Rat Race), the lazy kitty is able to devote his time to the important things in life - eating copious amounts of lasagne, sleeping, watching TV and tormenting the righteous pets next door. Garfield's philosophy on life is "Love me, feed me and never leave me"!

Unfortunately for Garfield (voiced by Bill Murray; Lost In Translation, Charlie's Angels), Jon has a crush on the local veterinarian Liz Wilson (Jennifer Love Hewitt; Heartbreakers, The Tuxedo) and in his efforts to win her affection, he accepts her proposal to take in a stray animal - a dim-witted, but loyal dog called Odie!

Naturally, Garfield is horrified at the new addition to the family. Excitable and energetic, Odie is everything that Garfield loathes. Odie chases his tail until he's dizzy, crashes into walls, barks for no reason and is getting far too much attention! One night, a resentful and frustrated Garfield locks Odie out of the house, but his mean-spirited act goes horribly wrong when Odie gets lost, then dog-napped by a TV presenter, the evil Happy Chapman (Stephen Tobolowsky; Freaky Friday)!

Realising that he has developed a soft spot for Odie, it's down to Garfield to turn off the TV, tear himself away from his favourite armchair and head to the big city to find the silly dog! Can the giant ginger fur-ball locate Odie and bring him home safely, all in time for a lasagne dinner and a well-earned catnap?

Garfield: The Movie also features the voice talents of Debra Messing (Will and Grace) as Arlene, a cute feline who keeps Garfield on his toes; Brad Garrett (Everyone Loves Raymond) as Luca, the neighbourhood Doberman and Alan Cumming (X-Men 2) as Persnikitty, another cat with whom Garfield crosses paths on his big journey.

Directed by Peter Hewitt (The Borrowers), Garfield: The Movie is the film adaptation of the immensely popular cartoon strip created by Jim Davis that is read in over 2000 newspapers around the globe. The Special Edition 2 disc DVD boasts a host of special features, including featurettes, games, audio commentaries, deleted scenes and storyboards! The film will also be available as a single disc DVD. Containing so many chuckles you'll be having kittens, Garfield: The Movie really is the cat's whiskers so be sure to get your paws on a copy this October!
