Sharply written and directed by Billy Ray (Hart's War), this is the critically acclaimed story of a cover-up in modern day journalism. Hayden Christensen (Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones) stars, providing his best performance to date, as the talented but flawed journalist. He's supported by the talented Golden Globe nominee Peter Sarsgaard (K-19: The Widowmaker, Empire), who plays his unknowing editor, and Chloe Sevigny (Dogville, American Psycho).

Based on Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Buzz Bissinger's September 1998 article in Vanity Fair magazine, this intense film tells the true story of smart but fraudulent journalist, Stephen Glass (Christensen), who rose to meteoric heights as a young writer with the prestigious The New Republic in Washington.

Glass contributed many first-rate and well-praised articles for the edgy and respected magazine but because of a rare slip-up, over 25 of the 41 pieces he authored were revealed to be wholly or partially fabricated.

This is a compelling and thoroughly unique story that witnesses the unravelling of a writer and tests the trust we hold in the media and the consequences that occur when that trust is called into question.

Boasting excellent lead performances, the film also parallels the recent saga of New York Times reporter Jayson Blair who allegedly made up or plagiarised portions of over thirty articles for the newspaper.
