Having been made redundant from the once thriving Sheffield steelworks, a mis-matched group of ex-employees decide to try and make a living as a male strip group! Gaz (Robert Carlyle, Trainspotting, The World is Not Enough) desperately needs cash to support his son Nathan, and he convinces his best mate Dave (Mark Addy, A Knight's Tale, Around the World in 80 Days) that they can make it rich despite their lack of good looks, hot bodies and dancing talent! Gaz is certain that all they need is the right selling point, and for their lusty female audience it's offering them the elusive Full Monty - a total strip!

With their minds made up, the audition process gets underway with a parade of weird and wonderful hopefuls - each with a unique individual talent or attribute! The guys add Gerald (Tom Wilkinson), Horse (Paul Barber), Lomper (Steve Huison) and Guy (Hugo Speer) 'the lunchbox' to the troupe, all they need now is learn how to dance... They begin practising their routines wherever they can - in their living rooms, a 'borrowed' warehouse and even in the dole queue!

The path to their first performance is anything but smooth, as stage fright and personal problems threaten their unity for the opening night. As word goes around the town of their act, the pressure is on for the lads to deliver - can they live up to their promise of revealing The Full Monty?
