From acclaimed Irish director Neil Jordan comes the intriguing, bittersweet tale of love and loss in Breakfast on Pluto.
Breakfast On Pluto is based on the novel by Patrick McCabe, author of The Butcher Boy and tells the story of Patrick "Kitten" Braden (Cillian Murphy, 28 Days Later), abandoned as a baby on the doorstep of the town priest (Liam Neeson, Kinsey). Patrick is raised by a neighbour, and while growing up in 1960's Ireland, quickly realises that he is not quite like all the other boys.
With an unusual fondness for sequins and eyeliner, Patrick, now calling himself Kitten, soon needs to escape the disapproving townspeople. Fuelled by unwavering optimism he sets off for London in search of love, and his long lost mother.
Adventures abound for our young hero, as he falls in love with the lead singer of Billy Hatchett and the Mohawks (Gavin Friday, In America), is sawn in half by a magician named Bertie (Stephen Rea, V for Vendetta) and takes a job as a womble. Things take a darker turn, however, when Kitten is mistaken for a member of the IRA and arrested after a bomb goes off in a club...
With a Golden Globe nominated performance from Cillian Murphy and a remarkable ensemble cast, Breakfast on Pluto is released to buy on DVD on 15th May 2006 from Pathé Distribution Limited.
