Details
Once upon a time, intrepid brothers, Wilhelm (Matt Damon) and Jake (Heath Ledger) Grimm, embarked on a rip-roaring adventure to save innocent, young maidens from a beautiful but terribly vain queen (Monica Bellucci). On their quest through a shadowy and enchanted forest they had to overcome their fears, a French general and their rivalry for the affections of Angelika (Lena Headey), a mysterious local hunts woman.
Fortunately for all fans of spine-tingling action, frightful scares, and stunning visual effects, The Brothers Grimm, released by Buena Vista Home Entertainment on 13th March 2006, was captured on a fabulous action packed DVD, so that their tale can be enjoyed for many years to come.
A dark, comical and fantastical fairy-tale set amongst creepy woodlands and eerie villages, The Brothers Grimm has a wonderful cast, who truly bring this extraordinary story to life. Two of Hollywood's biggest stars, Matt Damon (Bourne Supremecy, Good Will Hunting) and Heath Ledger (Lords of Dogtown, A Knight's Tale) appear as the squabbling, con men Will and Jake Grimm. The gorgeous Monica Bellucci (Matrix Re-Loaded) plays the spellbinding, narcissistic Mirror Queen, whose beauty is only surpassed by her conceit and greed for eternal youth.
Directed by the legendary filmmaker and original Python, Terry Gilliam (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, 12 Monkeys), The Brothers Grimm is visually spectacular and hugely imaginative. Set in a world of myth and folklore, many of the renowned Grimm fairy-tales such as Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel and The Ginger Bread Man are masterfully woven into the story.
The Brothers Grimm DVD features an unworldly amount of exciting extras, including feature commentary, deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes highlights and a look at the amazing special effects. Fortunately for us all, the curse was broken and the DVD released. Be sure to take The Brothers Grimm home on this magical DVD from 13th March 2006 to ensure you live happily ever after.
Synopsis
Brothers Will and Jake Grimm travel the Napoleonic countryside, making money by ridding fearful communities of monsters and demons whilst encouraging paranoia with their exaggerated tales.
But when the French authorities realise the pair are nothing but con artists, they force the Grimms on pain of death, to investigate an 'enchanted' forest, where young girls have been mysteriously disappearing.
Torn between reality and fantasy, the brothers find that the curse on the forest is all too real and that they must break the spell placed on the local village by the beautiful but vain Mirror Queen.
