Jack Black is heading back to the classroom this October as Paramount Home Entertainment brings the much-loved musical comedy School of Rock to Blu-ray.

Directed by Richard Linklater and written by Mike White, the 2003 comedy stars Black as Dewey Finn, an enthusiastic but spectacularly irresponsible guitarist whose dreams of rock superstardom have yet to translate into anything resembling a successful career.

Dewey lives for rock music. Unfortunately, his bandmates have finally had enough of his excessive guitar solos, outrageous stage antics and inability to take anything seriously. After being unceremoniously kicked out of his band, Dewey finds himself unemployed, short of money and facing increasing pressure from his flatmate's girlfriend to start paying his share of the rent. Then an unexpected opportunity presents itself.

When a prestigious private school telephones looking for substitute teacher Ned Schneebly (Mike White), Dewey answers the call and decides that impersonating his flatmate might provide an easy way to earn some much-needed cash.

Armed with absolutely no teaching qualifications and even less enthusiasm for conventional education, he arrives at Horace Green Preparatory School determined to do as little work as possible. But everything changes when he discovers that his classroom contains a group of extraordinarily talented young musicians.

Suddenly, Dewey has a considerably more interesting lesson plan. Abandoning the school's traditional curriculum, he begins introducing his pupils to the history of rock music, transforming the classroom into an unlikely rehearsal space

School of Rock will be released on Blu-ray in the UK on 19th October 2026 by Paramount Home Entertainment.
