Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and based on the video games of the same name, Mortal Kombat is the story of one man's evil dream to take over the world.

For centuries a tournament has taken place to halt the invasion on Earth Realm. Shang Tsung (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa), an evil sorcerer from Outworld has united with his ally Goro a four-armed prince born half man and half dragon to secure nine straight victories over countless generations of Earth Realm warriors. Shang Tsung now needs fresh souls. He lures three of Earth Realm's best fighters Liu Kang (Robin Shou), Johnny Cage (Linden Ashby) and Sonya Blade (Bridgette Wilson - The Wedding Planner) to a secret and magical island for the tournament, plotting to steal their souls after having them killed.

Guided by the Lightning God Lord Rayden (Christopher Lambert - The Sicilian, Highlander), Earth Realm's three fighters must overcome their fears and the insurmountable odds stacked against them to triumph over Shang Tung. So be prepared for the final Kombat!

Also set for release on 28th June 2004 will be the Mortal Kombat Box Set, featuring the two smash hits Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat II: Annihilation.

Beginning where the blockbuster adventure Mortal Kombat left off, Mortal Kombat II: Annihilation is a spectacular action packed sequel crammed with special effects and martial arts thrills. Starring Robin Shou and Talisa Soto from 'Mortal Kombat' plus Sandra Hess, James Remar, and Chris Conrad, the film features more spectacular fight sequences, more astonishing special effects and is even more visually groundbreaking than the first.

With the whole world as an arena for battle, the stakes are annihilation and no rules exist. Saving Earth from destruction, a band of fearless fighters have defeated the evil warlords from Outworld in the life-or-death tournament Mortal Kombat. However, just as the celebrants begin to rejoice their victory, the portals leading to Outworld are ripped asunder and a giant figure with the face of Death declares that the battle has just begun.
