His Airness and His Hareness; what a team! Michael Jordan slams, Bugs Bunny jams and a cavalcade of Looney Tunes and NBA stars hoop it up in the rim-rattlin', out-of-this-world, roundball romp: Space Jam: Special Edition.
Following the massive box office success of the all-new Looney Tunes movie Back In Action and in preparation for the 'Best of Bugs' and 'Best of Porky and Daffy' DVD collections set for release in July, Warner Home Video is very proud to announce the release of this deranged double disc delight.
Available to buy for the very first time from 5th April 2004 and presented in snazzy silver premium packaging, Space Jam: Special Edition is an essential addition to any DVD collection, a 'keeper' disc that is guaranteed to have everyone in fits of giggles. Made in the anarchic spirit of Looney Tunes where anything goes so long as it's funny and off-the-wall (or the ceiling, or the door, or the floor) Space Jam: Special Edition is a work of demented genius.
A truly iconic all-star cast leads the movie mayhem. In the Toon Squad we have street smart Bugs Bunny, maladjusted mallard Daffy Duck, lisping loveable alley cat Sylvester and innocent Tweety, crazy Taz, P-P-P-Porky Pig and sexy newcomer "heartthrob of the hoops" Lola Bunny not to mention NBA superstar squad members Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing and Larry Bird.
Hollywood favourites Bill Murray (Lost in Translation, Groundhog Day, Ghostbusters), Danny de Vito (Hercules, Mars Attacks, L.A. Confidential), Wayne Knight (Jurassic Park, Seinfield) and Theresa Randle (Beverly Hills Cop III, Bad Boys, A Different World) also pop in to provide hilarious cameos, voiceovers and performances in this dazzling display of family entertainment at it's craziest.
So, what's up Doc?
Cartoon land is in chaos! Bugs Bunny and his Looney cohorts have been kidnapped to outer-space by the Nerdlucks who have been sent on a mission to secure new attractions for their master Swackhammer, the owner of the amusement planet Moron Mountain.
The Nerdlucks are ugly, uncivilised but well armed for their size so Bugs Bunny is forced to trick them into agreeing to a competition to determine their freedom. Taking advantage of their puny, stubby legged foes, the gang selects basketball for their surest chance of winning. However, the Nerdlucks turn the tables and steal the talents of leading professional basketball stars to become massive basketball bruisers known as Monstars.
In desperation, Bugs Bunny calls on the aid of Michael Jordan, the Babe Ruth of Basketball, to help them have a chance at winning their freedom.
Truly iconic and universally loved by all ages the Looney Tunes will continue to capture the hearts of audiences when Space Jam Special Edition is released to own on DVD.
