The directorial debut of four times Oscar winning special effects wizard Stan Winston (AI; Jurassic Park; Terminator 2: Judgment Day; Aliens), Pumpkinhead stars genre legend Lance Henriksen (Alien Vs. Predator; Scream 3; Near Dark; Aliens; The Terminator) in an "Aliens" meets "Deliverance" style chiller set in the remote backwoods of the American Mid-West.

The quiet, comfortable life of country store owner Ed Harley (Lance Henriksen) is shattered when his young son is accidentally killed by one of a group of dirt-bike riding city kids vacationing at a cabin in the woods. Furious in his grief and determined to have revenge on his son's killers, Ed seeks out a local witch, Haggis (Florence Schauffler), rumoured to be capable of summoning the mythical vengeance demon known as Pumpkinhead, a nightmarish creature Ed had once briefly glimpsed during his childhood. Reluctantly, Haggis agrees to raise the demon once more. But as Ed's vengeance is enacted upon the kids, he soon realises he has unleashed a horror more terrifying than anything he could possibly have imagined.

As a director, Stan Winston displays a visual flair equal to his remarkable skills as a special effects artist, while Lance Henriksen gives one of the best lead performances of his career. A cult favourite amongst horror genre aficionados, Pumpkinhead also features one of the most awesome creatures ever to grace the screen.

Pumpkinhead will be released on DVD by Contender Entertainment on 18th October 2004.
