When a group of teenagers conspire to break into a test centre and steal the answers, a series of events is set in motion. The youths are made to question their motives and contemplate their real feelings about themselves and the pressures put on them to succeed academically.

They begin to recognise in each other the same fears and desires, despite their diverse cultural backgrounds. Through interaction between the six main characters, The Perfect Score offers an insightful and intelligent exploration of teenage angst and the fear of failure.

Johansson gives a sensitive and well-balanced performance as a bored teen looking for something to lift her out of the mundane routines that dictate her life. Her portrayal perfectly captures the essence of a misunderstood teenager. With a suitably tense and often humorous plot, The Perfect Score is available to own on DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment from 13th September 2004.
