Based on the critically-acclaimed, multi-award-winning debut novel by Jonathan Safran Foer, Everything is Illuminated tells the story of a young man's (Elijah Wood) quest to find the woman who saved his grandfather in a small Ukrainian town that was wiped off the map by the Nazi invasion.

Aided by interpreter Alex (Hutz) whose grasp of English "isn't so premium" and his supposedly blind driver (Leskin) and his "seeing-eye bitch" Sammy Davis Junior Jr what starts out as a journey to piece together one family's story under absurd circumstances turns into a meaningful journey with a powerful series of revelations -- the importance of remembrance, the perilous nature of secrets, the legacy of the Holocaust, the meaning of friendship and most importantly, love.

Everything is Illuminated, won the Laterna Magica Prize at the Venice Film Festival 2005 for actor Liev Schreiber's (The Daytrippers, Scream) directorial debut. Of the source material Schreiber says "When I read the story I was very moved by it and at the same time I thought it was the most hilarious thing I had read in years."

Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Green Street) and Boris Leskin (Men in Black) star alongside Ukrainian native Eugene Hutz in his acting debut, who learned English from listening to Johnny Cash records and contributes a number of songs to the soundtrack with his critically lauded gypsy-punk rock band Gogol Bordello.

Everything is Illuminated is released on DVD 27th March 2026 from Warner Home Video.
