Miss Marple returns for another series of sleuthing adventure as Marple: Series Five comes to DVD on 20th June 2011, courtesy of ITV Studios Home Entertainment.

Based on the celebrated ITV adaptation of Agatha Christie's best selling crime fiction series, Marple Series Five provides viewers with hours of intrigue, humour and suspense in an idyllic British setting.

Acclaimed actress Julia McKenzie (Shirley Valentine, Bright Young Things, Fresh Things) plays Miss Jane Marple, an elderly resident of the small English village of St. Mary on Mead. With her tweed two-pieces and penchant for knitting, the unassuming Miss Marple is certainly not your average detective. However, Miss Marple's sharp wit and shrewd understanding of human nature makes her a formidable force against any criminal who comes in her way.

Marple: Series Five sees the amateur sleuth unravelling a variety of mysteries and divulging dark secrets - from solving the puzzle of the cursed wallpaper (The Blue Geranium) to the death of a Catholic priest who had been privy to a dangerous confession (The Pale Horse). Each episode introduces us to a cast of intriguing characters and familiar faces including Nicolas Parsons, Joanna Lumley and Holly Willoughby, to name but a few.
