A horror writer discovers that his latest creation may have developed a murderous life of its own in Big Baby, the blood-soaked new meta-slasher from Little Bites director Spider One.

Adam Lewis (Brandon Scott) is a successful horror screenwriter struggling to find inspiration for his latest project. Creative frustration isn't helped by a pair of particularly unforgiving horror podcasters who tear apart his previous work, leaving Adam increasingly desperate to come up with something capable of silencing his critics.

Inspiration eventually arrives from an unlikely - and deeply disturbing - source.

After experiencing a violent nightmare involving a hulking killer wearing a grotesque baby mask, Adam begins turning the terrifying figure into the centrepiece of a new screenplay. He names his creation Big Baby and starts constructing an increasingly gruesome slasher story around him.

Unfortunately, the more Adam writes, the less certain he becomes about where his imagination ends and reality begins.

Nightmares give way to disturbing visions and increasingly violent encounters as the world of Adam's screenplay begins bleeding into his everyday life. While those around him fear that the pressure of his work is pushing him towards a psychological breakdown, Adam becomes convinced that Big Baby is no longer confined to either his dreams or the pages of his script.

As fiction and reality become increasingly difficult to separate, Adam finds himself fighting for control of both his story and his sanity - while the murderous character he created begins accumulating victims of his own.

Written and directed by Spider One, Big Baby deliberately plays with the conventions of the slasher movie, turning the relationship between horror filmmakers, their creations, critics and audiences into part of the story itself. Spider One describes his intention as turning the slasher genre "inside out", exploring what happens when an author's creation appears to escape their control.

Brandon Scott (Blair Witch, Dead to Me) leads the cast as Adam, with Krsy Fox (Little Bites, Terrifier 3) playing Kate and Adam Marcinowski taking on the imposing role of Big Baby.

The sizeable horror-friendly supporting cast includes Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier), Sierra McCormick (The Vast of Night), Cameron Cowperthwaite (Fallout), Kirby Bliss Blanton (The Green Inferno), Chaz Bono (American Horror Story) and David Howard Thornton, best known to horror audiences as Art the Clown in the Terrifier films.

Produced through Spider One and Krsy Fox's OneFox Productions, the film also counts Cher among its executive producers.

Following its UK premiere at Tubi FrightFest in London on 27th August, the 103-minute Big Baby is released on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital in the UK on 7th September 2026 by Lightbulb Film Distribution.
